[She is stirring and stretching sinuously between the brothers, letting her body reacquaint with itself as she becomes increasingly more aware of herself and her surroundings. With a lazy, dreamy smile, two fingers of the hand on Kili's side gently nudge his chin so his face will turn - he's snoring after all - and the other on Fili's brushes his beard along the back of her hand.
It will not trouble her if they remain asleep, but if they awaken, so much the better.]
[Kili's a heavy sleeper for the most part, though his snoring falters and then stops as his head turns in Tauriel's direction after her prompting. He makes a quiet sound in his sleep, the hand on her stomach tensing for a moment before he presses in closer to her and quiets.]
[Fili, on the other hand, begins to stir with Tauriel's movements. Even breaths grow less so as his eyelids flutter and his lips part to mumble something. Promptly, the end of one braid left in place slips between them and he nearly swallows its bead.
He wakes with a cough, lifting his head from its former spot to blink at both of his companions. Kili, he's certain, slept through that. Tauriel... She seems fully aware again.
It's time to look somewhat sheepish and drop his moustache from his mouth. Slowly, his arm returns to his side.]
Sorry... [His gaze travels to the sky.] Morning came quickly.
[She does not fully laugh at the antics with Fili's braid, but there's a soft huff of breath that keeps her chuckle from being too audible. That one hand goes to Kili's hair, stroking it as she turns her head to address Fili in a whisper.]
You needn't wake with me if you're still tired. Sleep on if it suits you. I was coming awake in any regard.
[Her finger traces one of the braids with fascination; both brothers are undoubtedly aware of how fascinating she finds both of their cheeks and chins.]
[Kili's starting to drift somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, not quite aware of what's going on but starting to stir. Tauriel's hand in his hair invokes a little moan, content, and he wiggles closer to her.
Kili yawns but stays stubbornly asleep, not wanting to wake up yet.]
[When Tauriel's hand nears and brushes his braid, Fili catches himself holding his breath, though his lungs soon take issue with that. Shaking his head slightly, he sits up, but smiles.]
I've slept enough. [Just about draped over her like a third blanket, at that. Something else may be unspoken here, but palpable, another sort of gratitude. He and Kili haven't ceased to make up a unit.]
... But you'll have your hands full with my brother awhile longer, I think. [Which doesn't appear to bother her, either.] Give him a shove, if you need to. I'll take the blame.
[Well, if Tauriel had planned on getting out of bed, Kili has definitely made it a little more difficult. There's a kiss pressed to the top of Kili's head before she does in fact, give him a little shove so she can sit up.]
You needn't take the blame for my actions. [She stretches languorously.
[Kili complains as he's shoved but scoots over obediently, finally starting to wake up. He yawns and blinks awake, just in time to watch Tauriel stretch.
[A kiss, a shove and a sight that apparently woke Kili better than any poking and prodding. Upon glancing at Kili's face, Fili takes back an instant of regret. 'Poor Kili' hardly applies now.
But to watch Tauriel as Kili does isn't something that Fili can do; vaguely, at times, there's still this sense of... intruding? So, for the moment and for the most part, he keeps his eyes averted.]
[That look in Fili's eyes is hard to miss, and Tauriel has seen it before. Without any hesitation she leans forward, pushing back his hair so she can press a kiss to his neck before she offers a comment to Kili.]
[Kili sits up and stretches, yawning. This thing between him and Tauriel and Fili is still sort of new and there's still a twinge of jealousy when Tauriel pays attention to Fili, but he's getting much better at pushing it aside.
He manages a laugh and shrugs, rubbing absently at his thigh where the morgul arrow had once pierced him.]
I probably would, had I not been shoved so rudely.
[Fili would like to think that he's become part of this only to do what he has always done, to watch over Kili. That's his duty to his brother. And here, he means to see that nothing touches what has sprung up between Kili and Tauriel, who don't need a guard, but--
Who knows, it could be turning into an excuse.
Although he has a smile for Tauriel and for her remark, seconds later he watches Kili again, scrutinizing his reaction. The last thing he wants to be is a wedge.]
Someone shoved you? [Unfortunately, Fili doesn't have the face to pull off wide-eyed innocence as well as certain little brothers might. Exchanging a look with Tauriel, as if to ask whether she witnessed that shocking deed, may be more convincing.]
You could ill afford to sleep all day, now could you? [Tauriel is smoothly serene in her reasoning, looking back at Fili blithely before fastening her gaze on Kili.]
Are there not a great many things that require your attention today?
[They really do have a lot of hair between them, but it's a privilege to work with Tauriel's and a comfortable routine to tackle Kili's. And since Tauriel must be providing the perfect distraction, Fili drops the comb in his brother's lap, freeing up one hand for it to close around a fistful of Kili's hair. The other side he leaves for Tauriel's fingers.]
I'll consider it. Tauriel is braver than I am, to go near you now.
[What's wrong with Kili now? They could be risking their limbs, every time they get too close to these tangles.
There's nothing actually wrong with Kili at all, if Tauriel isn't put off by any dried slobber or morning breath. Rather than making something up, Fili just gives his brother a look that should convey everything (probably too late, so that it ends up directed at the tip of Kili's ear) before he ventures on. The first stroke of the brush glides through dark strands. The second snags.
Of course any distraction I might provide may equally distract Fili as well.
[They're an impish cast to her features as she half turns in her reclining position, and as limber as a cat, tugs her sleep tunic off. Turning back, she leans back once more, and letting the long length of her hair drape across her torso and keep her body from fully being in view.]
Are you sure the both of you wouldn't prefer a lady a little shorter, more buxom, and hirsute?
